I find working with silk and wool provide a beautiful balance of texture and freedom.The silk canvas begins as a new tapestry, while the design builds by manipulating the fiber fabric and dyes slowly revealing its final design. I become captivated with the unexpected incorporate mistakes, play with color, shape, and texture. In my recent fiber work, I have incorporated natural plant materials to illuminate the relationship between the beauty of color, line, shape, and nature. This exploration of color and drape in wearable art continues to inform my work as a textile artist. I've been told that the weightlessness and structure in my pieces reflect an architect's sensibility.
